Wiener Blut

A story about love, the joy for life and plenty of Viennese humor.
An operetta in three acts, in German with English surtitles.

The Viennese Countess Gabriele was forced to marry the boring German Count von Reuß-Schleiz-Greiz. Immediately after the wedding, the disappointed woman fled back to Vienna. When the count arrives in the residence for the Congress of Vienna, he is captivated by the erotic magic of the city and becomes a womanizer. In a diplomatic and erotic game of confusion, the countess is delighted to discover new sides to her husband. Never despair: even as a Reuss-Schleiz-Greizer you can become Viennese blood!

In 1899, shortly after Strauss' death, Adolf Müller Jr. used motifs from Johann Strauss' waltz Wiener Blut (1873) and other works to compose one of the most famous Strauss operettas, which continues to bring the magic of Vienna to the world. Nikolaus Habjan will stage the piece at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater as an imaginative, fast-paced “Remasuri”, with Anett Fritsch, David Kerber, Nikola Hillebrand and many more.
