Schönbrunn Palace is extending its conference centre through the addition of a roofed multi-purpose foyer and three multifunctional rooms. The well-established and highly successful concept of "conferences where you feel at ease, celebrations to be enjoyed in style" will continue to be the guiding principle.
All-in-all, the current total area of 2,400 square metres will be increased by an additional 1,300 square metres. The hitherto eight conference and events rooms with their different sizes and ambience will be joined by three further rooms for a wide variety of functions from meetings to presentations and business dinners.
The new foyer will be located in what is known as the Spitzhof and covered by a glass roof. A prestigious entrance from Schönbrunner Schlossstrasse will lead guests into the spacious reception area, where the visitors will be welcomed in style. This reception area itself provides plenty of exhibition space.
Before and after events, and even in-between, the foyer serves as a place to break the ice and relax. A grass area that can be opened outwards as desired corresponds with the wide spaces of Schönbrunn Palace park, and particularly at seminars, conferences or congresses allows fresh air to give the brain new inspiration. It is also an inviting spot to meet for an informal chat.
The appeal of the roofed courtyard and all the other rooms is the special Schönbrunn touch. Imperial architecture meets state-of-the-art environmentally-friendly technology such as photovoltaic cells as a source of energy. The technical equipment is state-of-the-art (including WLAN access and a variable lighting system). Completely barrier-free, the centre ensures a wide variety of possible uses in an exclusive setting.
The new entrance area, thanks to its spatial concept as an all-weather open-air oasis, is also the ideal venue for all kinds of parties and celebrations – from candlelight dinners under the stars to cultural events of a very special kind.
